Up to the racetrack, through woodingdean, past the mobile mast, down into Kingston, over to Lewes, road to Ditchling, cut up by Blackcap, South Downs way to Devils Dyke, down the cycle track, back through Brighton. Great views, some steep descents, regular pubs.

Get the train out to Lewes and cycle up to Black Cap. From there you can go down to and across the a 27 and then up to Kingston Ridge. From there cut in about a mile towards Newhaven way and then cut downhill to Southease. Cross at the railway station and head up Firle Beacon and past the radio masts then down again (via the road is fast and fun) to West Firle and then across the A27 again and over to Glyde. From there you can go up and over Mount Caburn and then you're back in Lewes. 30 mile round trip with four big hills to go up and down and as the previous post said some lovely views.

I write a page for the Argus every month detailing good off-road riding around here. Look at http://www.theargus.co.uk/whatson/cycling/ for full route details and maps
